The Los Angeles Dodgers have instructed outfielder Andy Pages not to use automated ball-strike (ABS) challenges going forward. Manager Dave Roberts publicly confirmed the decision to reporters ahead of Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves. The restriction comes after Pages used an unsuccessful ABS challenge during Saturday's contest.
Pages had challenged a clear strike call with two outs and nobody on base in the second inning, a low-leverage spot that left the Dodgers with only one remaining challenge for the rest of the game. Roberts spoke directly with Pages about the incident before publicly disclosing the club's decision.
