AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim is continuing to show faith in Samuel Chukwueze by deploying him in an evolving wing-back role, according to Corriere dello Sport. After spending last season on loan at Fulham, the Nigerian winger has transitioned into Amorim's starting lineup as a wing-back, earning starts in nearly every match this season.
To balance Chukwueze's attacking instincts, Amorim shifted Mario Gila to right-back in possession during a 3-0 victory against Lecce to offer defensive cover. Chukwueze is expected to rotate on the right flank with Diego Moreira once he returns from international duty with Nigeria.
