In the opening week of the season, many things are going right for the New York Rangers and their retooled roster. Their next chance to keep the good vibes going comes Tuesday night, when they'll seek a fourth straight win…
The New York Rangers look to secure their fourth consecutive victory as they host the rival New York Islanders on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. After an opening-night loss to Boston, the Rangers outscored their next three opponents 11-3 under head coach Mike Sullivan, most recently defeating the Utah Mammoth 4-2 on Sunday.
The Islanders enter the matchup at 1-1-0 following a 6-0 shutout against the New Jersey Devils, powered by Ilya Sorokin's 37 saves and a goal from rookie Victor Eklund. Under head coach Peter DeBoer, the Islanders aim to continue their regular-season dominance over the Rangers after sweeping the four-game series between the teams last season.
