Just days after Sasha Barkov’s departure, the Panthers face a fresh injury crisis as another star forward left Tuesday's game in Los Angeles, testing Florida’s touted roster depth.

Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand suffered a lower-body injury to his left leg during Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings. Marchand went down awkwardly late in the second period, grabbing at his left knee, and could not put weight on his leg as he was helped to the locker room. Head coach Paul Maurice stated that Marchand would be fully evaluated on Thursday after the team returns to South Florida.
The setback occurred in only Marchand's second game of the season, having returned ahead of schedule from offseason surgery. His injury comes directly after Florida captain Sasha Barkov was ruled out for six to eight weeks with a lower-body injury. Despite losing key forwards early in the season, Panthers players including Matthew Tkachuk and Seth Jones emphasized a "next man up" mentality to navigate the roster challenges.
