Julian Ward is closing in on a record-breaking transfer for Liverpool.
Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward is reportedly closing in on a record-breaking transfer for Mexican youngster Gilberto Mora. According to Mexican journalist David Faitelson, the Reds have submitted a bid in the region of £37 million to complete the permanent signing. If completed, the transfer would make Mora the most expensive export in Liga MX history, surpassing Enner Valencia's previous record move to West Ham United in 2014.
Ward is actively preparing Liverpool's squad for manager Andoni Iraola ahead of the January transfer window, where midfield additions remain a top priority. Alongside pursuing Mora, Liverpool are monitoring midfielders Alex Scott and Lamine Camara, although Scott's recent injury may complicate potential winter transfer plans.
