The Philadelphia Flyers loaned forward Alex Bump to their American Hockey League affiliate on Wednesday, clearing a roster spot one day after adding veteran Michael Bunting.
The Philadelphia Flyers have loaned 22-year-old forward Alex Bump to their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The roster decision came on Wednesday to open a spot following the signing of veteran forward Michael Bunting and the return of Denver Barkey from injury. Bump played in three games this season without registering a point.
General manager Daniel Briere recently signed Bunting to a one-year, $1.2 million deal to bolster an offense that has scored just five goals during an 0-2-2 start. The organization assigned Bump to Lehigh Valley to secure regular playing time rather than keeping him as a healthy scratch, and he does not require waivers.
