The Tampa Bay Lightning tested a revised power play structure during practice on Wednesday after failing to score on the man advantage early in the season. Head coach Jon Cooper shifted away from the team's traditional four-forward alignment by putting two defensemen on the top unit, featuring John Carlson on the left side and Charle-Edouard D'Astous at the top.

Nikita Kucherov remains positioned on the right half-wall, joined by Brayden Point in the bumper position and Jake Guentzel down low. The second unit featured Janis Moser running the point with Brandon Hagel, Conor Geekie, Gage Goncalves, and Anthony Cirelli.
