FOX rules analyst Dean Blandino highlighted a major officiating mechanics breakdown during the Kansas City Chiefs' 30-27 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. With under two minutes remaining, Raiders receiver Tre Tucker secured an apparent catch that appeared to hit the ground. Because it occurred inside the final two minutes, head coach Andy Reid could not challenge, leaving the decision solely to the replay booth, which failed to halt the game before the next snap.
Blandino stated officials should have stopped the game immediately to review the play before Las Vegas spiked the ball. Although the catch stood, Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins threw an interception on the following pass with 10 seconds remaining to end the contest.
