Former UFC fighter and U.S. Army Green Beret Tim Kennedy was reportedly wounded during an ambush in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sept. 17. The incident allegedly claimed the life of former New Zealand special operations soldier Justin Conaglen and injured another contractor. Kennedy was reportedly part of a three-person contracting team working on an operation to protect mining revenues on behalf of the Congolese government.
According to reports from The New Zealand Herald and former Delta Force operator Brent Tucker, the team sustained multiple gunshot wounds before being evacuated. Kennedy was reportedly medically evacuated to the United States following the ambush. While key details and the full severity of Kennedy's injuries remain officially unconfirmed, he did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
