Michel-Ange Balikwisha’s Celtic debut would sum up his career in Glasgow. Rewind to last season: Brendan Rodgers in charge of Celtic, Russell Martin is in…
Michel-Ange Balikwisha scored his first goal for Gent over the weekend against Zulte Waregem, achieving a milestone he never reached during his spell at Celtic. The versatile attacker joined the Belgian side on a season-long loan deal during the summer after a difficult period in Glasgow, where he failed to find the net in 14 appearances under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Gent currently sits at the top of the Belgian Pro League table following seven wins in their opening eight matches. While Celtic predominantly utilized Balikwisha as a winger, Gent has deployed him in an attacking midfield role, where he has already started four matches and registered 361 minutes of playing time.
