More Winning Winning is something that has been hard to come by in Utica in recent years. Not this season. The Comets led by Lenni Hameenaho’s hot start (5 points, 3 goals) swept back to back games over the weekend…

The Utica Comets swept their weekend series to achieve an undefeated 3-0 start to the AHL season. Forward Lenni Hameenaho led the charge with a five-point weekend, scoring three goals across the two victories. Goaltender Jakub Malek made 23 saves to edge the Rochester Americans 2-1 on Saturday, with Marc McLaughlin scoring the game-winning goal.
On Sunday, the Comets defeated the Belleville Senators behind two power-play goals and a short-handed assist from Hameenaho. Shane LaChance added his first goal of the season, while defenseman Topias Vilen recorded two assists. Elsewhere, New Jersey Devils prospects Chase Cheslock, David Rozsival, and Matias Vanhanen started strongly in the NCAA.
