Rangers stars Olwethu Makhanya and Vanja Dragojevic named among Scottish football’s highest-potential prospects by TransferRoom as midfield spending surges.
Rangers players Olwethu Makhanya and Vanja Dragojevic have been identified as top prospects in a new study by platform TransferRoom. The report highlights Dragojevic, who signed for £4.2 million from Partizan Belgrade, as having the highest potential rating at 87.1, while defender Makhanya holds an 86.7 rating following his £3 million transfer from Philadelphia Union.
The study also emphasizes a global transfer trend where club spending heavily prioritizes midfielders over attacking players. Total worldwide expenditure on midfielders increased 54 percent to €3.21 billion, driven by a 191 percent rise in spending on defensive midfielders, whereas financial investment in forwards and wingers saw notable declines.
