Wow. Big news in the National Hockey League. While everything's been a mess in Detroit for the past few weeks… we're learning today that Alex DeBrincat has signed a (new) $91 million contract with the Red Wings.
Alex DeBrincat has reportedly signed a seven-year, $91 million contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings. The agreement pays the 28-year-old forward an average of $13 million annually, securing his future in Detroit following a 5-4 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.
DeBrincat was entering the final season of a deal paying $7.875 million per year. The extension follows a productive campaign where he recorded 85 points and 41 goals, locking him in as a core offensive contributor despite ongoing team struggles.
