It didn’t take long for the Rangers goaltending equation to change.

Goaltender Dylan Garand has excelled for the New York Rangers following a sudden opportunity in the NHL, earning praise and chants from fans at Madison Square Garden. Entering Wednesday, the 24-year-old led all NHL goaltenders who had made at least three appearances with a 1.15 goals against average and a .951 save percentage.
Garand's emergence came after a turbulent start to the season. After losing the backup job to Joonas Korpisalo and clearing waivers in late September, Garand was recalled following a lower-body injury to Korpisalo. His workload increased further after starter Igor Shesterkin suffered a season-ending knee injury.
