South Africa have called up Matthew Breetzke and left Tristan Stubbs out of their squad for the second Test against Australia in Gqeberha, coach Shukri Conrad said on Thursday.
South Africa have dropped Tristan Stubbs and called up Matthew Breetzke ahead of the second Test against Australia in Gqeberha. Coach Shukri Conrad confirmed the squad changes following a 214-run defeat in the first Test in Durban. Ryan Rickelton is also set to take over as wicketkeeper, casting doubt over Kyle Verreynne's spot in the playing eleven.
Breetzke, who holds two caps in Test cricket, enters the squad after strong recent ODI form. Meanwhile, lead fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is expected to return after missing the opening match due to a hamstring issue. Tony de Zorzi remains sidelined with injury.
