Under pressure Watford manager Alessio Dionisi says reports he would lose his job after Tuesday's heavy defeat at Cardiff were "fake news".

Watford manager Alessio Dionisi has dismissed reports claiming he would be sacked following a heavy 5-1 defeat against Cardiff City, describing the rumors as "fake news." Despite losing their last four consecutive matches, Dionisi confirmed he remains in charge for Saturday's home Championship fixture against Charlton Athletic. He acknowledged that speculation regarding his managerial future is normal given the team's current poor run of form.
Watford currently sit 22nd in the Championship standings after losing six of their opening 10 matches. Dionisi, who was appointed in June, stated he remains in regular communication with club owner Gino Pozzo and the hierarchy. The manager also responded to recent criticism of the club's performances from former owner Elton John and ex-midfielder Tom Ince.
