Alessio Dionisi is still Watford manager, for now, and he may have his players to thank for that after a dismal run of form.

Watford manager Alessio Dionisi has retained his position after captain Mattie Pollock led squad members in defending him during a meeting with club staff. The Pozzo family is reportedly looking to end Watford's frequent managerial changes and grant Dionisi more time, despite the club suffering consecutive heavy losses against Burnley and Cardiff City.
James Ray argues that Dionisi deserves leeway because Watford's problems stem from hierarchy decisions, including gaps left in the squad and heavy reliance on sister club Udinese. However, with Watford sitting 22nd in the Championship and facing Charlton Athletic next, Ray warns that another defeat could still result in Dionisi being sacked.
