As the Panthers prepare to visit a depleted Eagles team, they are getting the additional benefit of returning a few key reinforcements. According to ESPN’s Mike Kaye, Carolina has activated right tackle Taylor Moton and running Trevor Etienne on offense…
The Carolina Panthers have activated right tackle Taylor Moton, running back Trevor Etienne, and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton from reserve lists ahead of their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Moton returns from the reserve/non-football injury list following a lung blood clot diagnosis, while Wharton makes his comeback from the reserve/PUP list following neck surgery. Etienne was activated from injured reserve to boost the backfield.
Moton's return allows rookie Monroe Freeling to move back to a reserve role after filling in alongside Rasheed Walker on the offensive line. Wharton's activation relieves pressure on Carolina's young defensive front, while Etienne is positioned to serve as the primary backup to Chuba Hubbard with AJ Dillon sidelined by an ankle injury.
