■By ADAM HATHAWAY BEN Spencer has a score to settle with the World Cup and is eyeing finally playing a full part in a global tournament next year Down Under. Plagued by a shoulder injury that has caused him problems…

Bath scrum-half Ben Spencer is aiming to secure a place in England's squad for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. After struggling with a persistent shoulder injury for nearly three years, Spencer underwent surgery during the summer. Although the procedure caused him to miss the start of the season, he has now regained full fitness.
Spencer previously featured as an injury replacement during the 2019 World Cup in Japan, where he played just four minutes off the bench in England's 32-12 final loss to the Springboks. He subsequently participated in England's initial training setup ahead of the 2023 tournament.
