Max Verstappen has hit back at former Formula 1 drivers who criticized his views on the 2026 regulations, claiming many pundits do not study or understand the technical rules. Speaking to De Telegraaf during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, the Red Bull driver specifically responded after being shown comments from 1996 world champion Damon Hill.
Verstappen noted that fellow drivers Fernando Alonso and Lando Norris have agreed with his technical concerns, though he maintained he is not seeking allies. Following consecutive victories in Malaysia and Singapore, Verstappen currently sits fourth in the drivers' championship with 221 points, trailing Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton by eight points ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
