Former Manchester City teammates Vincent Kompany and Martín Demichelis will face off as opposing managers when Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig on Matchday 6. During their playing days at City, the central defensive pair played 54 matches together, winning the 2013/14 Premier League title and two League Cups.
Both managers have since transitioned successfully into high-level coaching. Kompany has secured two Bundesliga titles with Bayern following a spell at Burnley, while Demichelis took charge at Leipzig ahead of the 2026/27 campaign after previous management roles at River Plate, Monterrey, and Mallorca.
