The Portuguese Football Federation announced Monday that Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended and fined after walking out on the national team last month.

The Portuguese Football Federation has suspended captain Cristiano Ronaldo for 30 days and fined him €255 for leaving the national team's camp in Denmark. The disciplinary action was backdated to Sept. 30, ensuring the 41-year-old forward will be eligible for selection when Portugal plays on Nov. 14.
The dispute emerged after head coach Jorge Jesus did not play Ronaldo against Norway despite prior assurances, prompting the forward to leave before the subsequent match in Copenhagen. Ronaldo apologized to teammates on social media while criticizing broken promises, as Portugal went on to win both fixtures.
