Canadian midfielder Justin Smith ‘will be brought in’ to October CanMNT camp: Jesse Marsch

Canada head coach Jesse Marsch announced that 23-year-old defensive midfielder Justin Smith will be called up to the senior national team camp this week. The announcement followed Canada's 1-0 victory over Chile at BMO Field in Toronto. Smith is set to join the squad ahead of upcoming matches against Peru in Montreal and the United States in St. Paul.

Smith, who previously captained Canada's under-20 team, signed a three-year contract with Spanish club CD Eldense earlier this summer. He has played every minute of Eldense's first six matches this season, offering Marsch additional defensive cover across both midfield and center-back following an injury to Derek Cornelius.
