Key Things to Know
  • Sky Sports ranked Arsenal top of the Premier League for overall squad depth and competitive depth.
  • Arsenal's substitutes boast an average market value of £367m, retaining roughly 92% of their starting lineup's value.
  • Arsenal's bench generated 27 combined goals and assists across 4,340 substitute minutes since last season.
The Story in 60 Seconds

A Sky Sports analysis comparing all 20 Premier League clubs concluded that Arsenal possesses the strongest squad depth in the division. The study evaluated playing time, market values, positional cover, rotation frequency, substitute effectiveness, and fixture demands. Arsenal ranked first in both the Overall Squad Depth Index and Competitive Depth Index, supported by an average bench value of £367m.

While Arsenal retains an estimated 92 percent of its starting XI market value when fielding a second-string lineup, the analysis identified positional vulnerabilities, such as Arsenal's left-wing depth and Liverpool's right-wing cover. Meanwhile, Manchester United heavily relied on a core group for over 88 percent of playing minutes under Michael Carrick, and Chelsea held the most valuable crop of young first-team talent.
