Aston Villa prepare formal offer for January signing – Intention to start negotiations

Aston Villa are preparing to present a formal transfer offer in January to sign River Plate goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán. The Premier League club intends to convert their interest into concrete negotiations during the winter window. Beltrán made his senior debut for River Plate earlier this year and earned his first Argentina cap in October, drawing interest from multiple European suitors.

River Plate are actively working to extend Beltrán's contract beyond December 2027 with an $89m (€89m) release clause. However, an agreement remains unresolved. If a permanent deal is completed, the Argentine goalkeeper is reportedly expected to initially serve as the deputy to current first-choice goalkeeper Zion Suzuki under manager Unai Emery.
