EXCLUSIVE: Former Everton player Billy Kenny tells the ECHO how he also had his pick of Liverpool and Manchester United as a teenager

Former Everton midfielder Billy Kenny revealed that both Liverpool and Manchester United actively tried to sign him as a schoolboy before he chose Everton. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo ahead of the release of his autobiography, The Goodison Gazza, the 53-year-old explained how managers Sir Kenny Dalglish and Sir Alex Ferguson personally courted him as a teenager.
Despite the intense pursuit from rival clubs and spending time training at both Anfield and Manchester United, Kenny ultimately chose his boyhood club at age 16. After debuting for Everton in 1992, Kenny's promising career was derailed by off-field substance abuse issues, resulting in his sacking in 1994.
