Kevin Phillips says Thierno Barry is thriving as Everton’s lone striker, with five goals and a key role under David Moyes.

Former Premier League Golden Boot winner Kevin Phillips believes Thierno Barry is thriving under pressure as Everton's primary lone striker. David Moyes was left with Barry as his only senior centre-forward following a deadline-day period that saw Beto and Iliman Ndiaye depart alongside the collapse of a proposed ÂŁ40 million move for Folarin Balogun.
Barry signed from Villarreal for ÂŁ27 million in July 2025 and struggled initially, but he has now scored five goals this season. Phillips advised the forward to play within the width of the 18-yard box to continue his development.
