Wayne Rooney Names the Only 2 Clubs He’d Return to Management For

Former England and Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has stated that he would only consider a return to football management for Everton or Manchester United. Speaking on Virgin Radio, Rooney admitted that a comeback to coaching remains very unlikely following difficult managerial stints across four different clubs.

Rooney previously held managerial roles at Derby County, D.C. United, Birmingham City, and Plymouth Argyle, leaving his last coaching position in 2024. When asked which club he would favor between Everton and Manchester United, Rooney stated he would take whichever opportunity came first.
