South Africa captain Temba Bavuma has confirmed that fast bowler Gerald Coetzee will replace the injured Anrich Nortje for the third and final Test against Australia at Newlands. Coetzee, making his first Test appearance since November 2024, was selected ahead of Corbin Bosch and Dane Paterson to take over the enforcer role after Nortje suffered a groin injury in the second Test.
With the three-match series tied at 1-1, South Africa will retain off-spinner Simon Harmer over Keshav Maharaj to counter Australia's left-handed batters. A victory in Cape Town would secure a home series triumph over Australia and could lift the Proteas to the top of the ICC Test rankings.
