Australia's tilt at a seventh men's ODI World Cup will begin against India two years to the day since their 2023 tournament opener

Australia will launch their 2027 Men's ODI World Cup title defense against India in Cape Town following the ICC's official fixture release. The tournament, co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, features a revamped 14-team structure that replaces the prior single round-robin format with two groups followed by a Super 7s stage. The semi-finals will be hosted in Tshwane and Cape Town ahead of the final at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
Placed in Group A alongside India, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and an upcoming qualifier, Australia faces a demanding seven-week schedule across nine cities. If they advance to the Super 7s, they are pre-seeded as A2 and scheduled to play two games at the new Victoria Falls stadium. Australia will prepare for the campaign with upcoming home bilateral series against England and New Zealand, alongside three expected matches against Zimbabwe.
