Western Australia had three wickets before Tasmania had scored a run

Tasmania defeated Western Australia by 26 runs in their Women's National Cricket League clash to split the points across the opening round. After slumping to 3-0 in the first two overs against early strikes from Chloe Ainsworth and Ebony Hoskin, Tasmania rallied to post 299. Nicola Carey led the recovery with 87 runs, supported by half-centuries from Tabatha Saville, Naomi Stalenberg, and Courtney Sippel.
In response, Western Australia fell behind the run rate following early dismissals of Beth Mooney and Chloe Piparo. Despite a 79-run partnership between Ainsworth and Alana King, Tasmania closed out the match as Sippel claimed 3-47. In an injury concern for the Tigers, Lauren Smith could not finish her sixth over due to lower leg discomfort.
