Selectors have brought in cover following Josh Inglis' broken finger

Nic Maddinson and Sam Harper have been added to Australia's Test squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa following injury concerns. Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis has been ruled out of the opening Test in Durban due to a fractured finger, while all-rounder Cameron Green sustained an abdominal strain during the third ODI in Potchefstroom.
The call-up marks a dramatic return for 34-year-old Maddinson, who underwent treatment for testicular cancer in 2025 and has not played a Test match in nearly a decade. Meanwhile, Harper earned his maiden international squad selection after hitting a century for Australia A against India A.
