Australia need 288 to win on Saturday's fifth day in what would be their biggest fourth-innings chase in 15 years…

Centuries from Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder helped South Africa reach 387 in their second innings, setting Australia a 288-run target on the final day of the third Test in Cape Town. Rickelton scored 101 and Mulder posted 115 during a stubborn 154-run partnership at Newlands. The performance ensured the closely contested three-match series will be decided on day five.
Australia struggled to break the partnership on a sluggish surface until an infield save by Josh Inglis produced a run out. Mitchell Starc led the Australian attack with 3-65, triggering a late collapse, but Mulder's late hitting stretched the lead. Australia now require their largest fourth-innings run chase in 15 years to secure a 2-1 series victory.
