A Meghalaya High Court ruling declared the original squad's selection invalid, forcing an entirely new eleven to take the field against Nagaland in the Plate League.
Meghalaya's entire Ranji Trophy Plate League squad was sacked and replaced ahead of their match against Nagaland in Shillong. The decision followed a Meghalaya High Court ruling that declared the original team selection invalid. Match referee Arindam Sarkar required the original squad, captained by Kishan Lyngdoh, to vacate the venue after the BCCI registered a completely new team captained by Jiwanjot Singh.
The court ruled in favor of MCA president James Sangma and upheld the suspension of secretary Rayonald Kharkamni, invalidating selections made by a rival faction. The newly assembled side included guest players Jiwanjot Singh, Srinivas Sharath, and Akshay Karnewar, who went on to score 254 runs in response to Nagaland's 144.
