Online video footage has emerged showing two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso testing a Prodrive-built rally car in Morocco. The sighting comes despite Alonso previously dismissing reports linking him to a 2027 Dakar Rally return alongside Marc Coma, citing the extreme physical demands of combining Formula 1 and rally-raid programmes.
Spanish outlets SoyMotor and Marca previously reported that Alonso and Coma could reunite using a Prodrive-operated machine. Prodrive maintains operational ties with Aston Martin, potentially facilitating off-road opportunities alongside prominent rally drivers like Sébastien Loeb and Nasser Al-Attiyah.
