Lando Norris admitted he had "no excuse" after being outqualified by McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri during sprint qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix. Norris qualified fifth in the decisive SQ3 shootout at Marina Bay, finishing 0.133 seconds behind Piastri, who secured fourth position.

Norris owned up to simply not putting together a strong lap, despite McLaren introducing a fix for recent fuel injection issues that impacted the MCL40. The result marked the third time in the last five qualifying sessions that Piastri finished ahead of Norris.
