Lewis Hamilton has criticised Formula 1’s younger drivers for being too cautious in wet conditions, claiming they are pushing race control to not race while the “old-school” drivers want to get going.

Lewis Hamilton has criticized Formula 1's younger drivers for being overly cautious in wet weather, arguing they push race control to delay or halt sessions. Speaking ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion stated that older drivers want to compete despite the risks, emphasizing that challenging wet conditions are where drivers truly test their skills.
Other drivers expressed differing perspectives on wet-weather safety. Williams driver Carlos Sainz supported race control's decisions, while Red Bull's Isack Hadjar cited equipment limitations, including intermediate tires struggling with standing water and unpredictable power delivery. However, Cadillac driver Sergio Perez noted power output can be adjusted.
