McLaren driver Lando Norris claimed pole position in a wet qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix on November 7, 2026. The session experienced a red flag lasting nearly an hour and a half due to heavy rain in Q1. Norris set the fastest time of 1'27.470 in Q3 to beat George Russell before weather conditions deteriorated further at Interlagos.
Russell finished second but faces a grid penalty, promoting his Mercedes teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli to the front row. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc placed fourth but also carries a penalty, moving Liam Lawson into third alongside Audi's Nico Hulkenberg. Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton both exited in Q2 and will drop down the grid following power unit changes.
