Oscar Piastri managed to salvage fifth position at the death in the Singapore Grand Prix.

Oscar Piastri stated that a late slow puncture served as a blessing in disguise, enabling him to catch and pass Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton on the final lap to finish fifth at the Singapore Grand Prix. Piastri crossed the finish line nearly 50 seconds behind race winner Max Verstappen of Red Bull, while Hamilton finished just over three seconds behind the Australian in sixth place.
Piastri acknowledged that McLaren lacked the pace to challenge Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, describing most of the contest as a lonely race. However, the switch to fresher tires after the puncture provided an opportunity to overtake Hamilton, whose soft tires had completed 44 laps by the finish.
