Kimi Antonelli is closing in on F1 history and one day very soon he will almost certainly be the sport's youngest ever world champion.

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has built a 102-point lead over teammate George Russell with six races remaining in the 2026 Formula 1 season. Following strong results in Singapore, the 20-year-old Italian can mathematically secure his first world championship as early as the United States Grand Prix in Austin on October 25.
To clinch the title in Austin, Antonelli must outscore Russell by 23 points and maintain at least a 126-point advantage over all rivals. However, the report highlights the Mexico City Grand Prix on November 1 as a more likely scenario. Winning the title would make Antonelli the youngest champion in F1 history, breaking Sebastian Vettel's record.
