Baltimore Orioles catching prospect Ethan Anderson positioned himself for a potential major league debut following an impressive 2026 offensive breakout. The 23-year-old switch-hitter, originally drafted in the second round in 2024 out of Virginia, rose quickly after spending most of the season in Double-A and finishing with Triple-A Norfolk.
Anderson finished the season batting .288 with 24 home runs, 14 doubles, and a .919 OPS across 344 at-bats. Writer John Beers notes that following the trade of Adley Rutschman to Boston, Anderson is well-positioned to compete for playing time alongside Samuel Basallo in Baltimore.
