Weeks after the 2026 MLB season concluded, the Los Angeles Angels made a decision on manager Kurt Suzuki. After one season with the club, he’s out. Plus, three more Minor Leaguers elected free agency within the last week.
The Los Angeles Angels announced that manager Kurt Suzuki will not be retained for the 2027 season following a single year in charge. Suzuki, who signed a one-year deal with an option in October 2025, was offered an opportunity to remain with the organization as a special assistant to the front office.
The decision gives front office head John Mozeliak the opportunity to hire his own manager after the Angels finished with an American League-worst 62-100 record. Meanwhile, minor-league players Ben Rortvedt, Connor Brogdon, and Carlos Hernandez elected free agency.
