The Angels have fired manager Kurt Suzuki after losing 100 games and will work with new owner Stan Kroenke's company to hire a new coaching staff.

The Los Angeles Angels have fired manager Kurt Suzuki after posting a 62-100 record in his only season leading the club. Baseball operations consultant John Mozeliak announced on Wednesday that the team declined the option on Suzuki's contract, though he was offered a role as a special assistant. The move was made in coordination with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, which agreed to purchase the franchise from Arte Moreno in September.
Suzuki's dismissal marks the end of the franchise's first 100-loss season in history and continues an 11-year losing skid. The entire coaching staff is also not expected to return to their current positions. Suzuki's eventual replacement will be the team's seventh manager across the past nine seasons.
