The Los Angeles Angels announced on Wednesday that Kurt Suzuki will not return as manager for the 2027 season. In his first year managing the team, Suzuki guided the club to a 62-100 record, marking the franchise's first 100-loss season in its 65-year history. Suzuki was offered an opportunity to stay with the organization as a special assistant.
The decision was announced by baseball operations consultant John Mozeliak, who took charge of daily operations after former general manager Perry Minasian was fired in June. The managerial change comes as the franchise undergoes an ownership transition following Arte Moreno's reported $4 billion sale to Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.
