Los Angeles Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been stellar during postseason play. Even better than San Francisco Giants playoff legend Madison Bumgarner.

Dodgers Way writer Drew Koch argues that comparisons between Los Angeles Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and former San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner undersell Yamamoto's playoff dominance. Yamamoto recently allowed just one run and struck out 10 across seven innings against the Atlanta Braves, joining Bumgarner as the only pitchers to throw 30-plus postseason innings allowing four or fewer runs across four starts.
Koch points out that while Bumgarner excelled in World Series play, he was frequently hit hard during early playoff rounds. In contrast, Koch highlights Yamamoto's consistent dominance, including his 2025 World Series MVP performance against the Toronto Blue Jays.
