Austin Prep standout Dylan Cunningham has committed to the University of Virginia baseball program. Ranked by New England Baseball Journal as the region's top uncommitted prospect, the class of 2028 two-way talent selected Virginia after also visiting Auburn. He chose the Cavaliers following discussions with head coach Chris Pollard, citing the chance to both pitch and hit as a major factor in his decision.

Cunningham's fastball reached 95.1 mph during a 2026 season where he posted a 0.55 ERA for Austin Prep. After experiencing arm discomfort, he recently underwent Tommy John surgery performed by Dr. Christopher Ahmad. Cunningham plans to hit during the 2027 high school season before eventually returning to the mound and heading to Charlottesville.
