Mario Hezonja is returning to the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers following a six-year hiatus playing overseas. After missing out on LeBron James and losing Dean Wade in free agency, the Cavaliers turned to the international market to address their depth on the wing, signing the 31-year-old forward to a non-guaranteed contract.
Writer Mike Anguilano notes that Hezonja rebuilt his value with clubs such as Real Madrid, where he averaged 17.5 points per game last season. With Cleveland facing a thin bench following the departures of Wade and Max Strus, Anguilano argues that Hezonja will have an immediate opportunity to carve out a key rotational role.
