Evan Mobley has never been more important in a changing Eastern Conference

Writer Josh Cornelissen argues that Evan Mobley will serve as the crucial factor for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they face increasingly dominant frontcourts across the Eastern Conference. The start of the NBA preseason highlighted an influx of talent and size across rival teams, making Mobley's defensive versatility vital to Cleveland's postseason aspirations.

According to the analysis, rival contenders have significantly bolstered their front lines, featuring pairings like Giannis Antetokounmpo with Bam Adebayo in Miami, and LeBron James alongside Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. Cornelissen contends that with Cleveland lacking frontcourt depth beyond Jarrett Allen, Mobley must consistently defend both the paint and versatile perimeter forwards.
