After a full season with the Thunder, it seems that the Brooks Barnhizer project hasn't gone as planned. Now entering his second year, he's overdue to show flashes of his potential. But will this year be a big break for…

Paul Daniel Flores writes that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Brooks Barnhizer faces a crucial second season to prove his value and secure a regular rotation spot. After an unfulfilled first year, Flores argues that Barnhizer has an opportunity during the preseason to demonstrate his two-way ability and earn playing time under head coach Mark Daigneault.
In OKC's preseason opener, Barnhizer recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists during a 116-110 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Flores suggests Barnhizer must continue utilizing his size and motor to compete with teammates Cason Wallace, Ajay Mitchell, and Jared McCain for reserve minutes.
