Suns forward Dillon Brooks was charged on Monday by Scottsdale, Arizona prosecutors with driving under the influence, stemming from a March arrest, according to a TMZ report and ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.
Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was formally charged on Monday with driving under the influence in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Class 1 misdemeanor charge originates from a March 6 arrest after Brooks was stopped for traffic violations at around 1 a.m. and subsequently booked into Scottsdale City jail. Brooks is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on October 28.
A source close to Brooks previously indicated that the March arrest was marijuana-related. Brooks also faces a separate Scottsdale misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding case from January, which has a trial readiness conference scheduled for November 9. The Suns acknowledged addressing the situation with Brooks internally, while the NBA typically waits for legal proceedings to conclude before determining disciplinary actions.
